The composition reflects the essence of Windmills’ fairly consistent waves, which break over patches of reef, forming perfect left and right-handers that rarely exceed two meters. The ocean dominates the canvas with shades of deep and light blues, suggesting the constant movement of surging swells, the white water of waves crash over the reef, and the  white foam of breaking surf. Orange marks made with oil sticks, signify the patches of reef and rocky outcrops of the coastal landscape.
