Scarborough Fair
Scarborough Fair

This painting reminded me of the Beatles song Scarborough Fair and the local Scarborough Beach. It is an abstract representation of the feelings of summer and the coastal landscape aiming to capture the essence of the colours and warmth of a summer day at the beach and the lightness of being from the song. Evoking memories of endless hours listening to the Beatles as a teenager and gaining an Aussie bronzed tan under. Cooling off in the surg at Scarborough Beach and Trigg Beaches. This artwork invites you, the viewer, to recall your memories of the music and a summer at the beach.
I paint in oils with different viscosity. Oil pigment sticks, creating vibrancy , texture and movement. I also add, remove and scrape into the paint surface to make unique marks which create further interest and many focal points.
This painting is a very modern, contemporary abstract work that would look fantastic hanging in your home.
